Radical Education Gathering - The RYSE and the Ecoversites Alliance

About us: The RYSE is an experiment in youth led radical education - a chance for us to build upon the legacies of our chosen ancestors, like Paulo Freire and The Highlander Folk School and with this gathering we want to extend the local network which we are weaving this work.

About the event: We are collaborating with the Ecoversities Alliance to host a micro-gathering in Bristol on the 19th July to explore how we can work together on the radical education and training at these moments of historical crisis. Everyone instrested in how radical education can help shape the social movements, spaces, ideas and relationships we're creating is super welcome to come and get involved, no experience needed, just curiosity and keeness! 

We will gather for an evening (including dinner) at the Peoples Republic of Stokes Croft (6.30-9pm). We'll start by playing a few games and getting to know each other before holding it as an Open Space event to deeply explore the question: "What are our radical education and training needs at this point of historical crisis?" - with particular interest in the role youth can/must play in meeting these needs!

Getting involved: We would also like this to be a collaborative space to support the building of solidarity and dialogue between radical educators, trainers and projects in Bristol and the surrounding region - a chance to start weaving some of our threads together and so please do email us ahead of time if you'd like to say hello and/or have any offers of support.
